Coffee

I drink it

You need ingredients:

  1. 24 grams of light roast coffee beans
  2. 500 grams of water

To brew, you need:

  1. Coffee grinder with adjustable settings
  2. Cone-shaped dripper (V60 or Chemex for example)
  3. Cone-shaped filters (type: white)
  4. Drip kettle with thin spout for precision pouring (V60)
  5. A precision weight that can measure grams
  6. A timing device that can measure seconds

Instructions

  1. Place a paper filter in the dripper and wet it with cold water to get the paper taste out
  2. Heat 500 grams of water to between 92 and 96 degrees Celsius
  3. While the water is heating, grind the beans and put them in the filter
  4. Shake the dripper gently to evenly distribute the coffee
  5. Put the dripper on the weight and reset it so it shows 0

  1. Start the timer and pour 60 grams of the heated water on the ground coffee in a circular motion starting inwards going outwards, to make it bloom
  2. (You'll know what that means when you see it)
  3. Wait for around 20 seconds to let it air
  4. Pour 110 grams of water in a circular motion, starting outwards closing in on the centre, taking total weight up to 170 grams
  5. Let some of the water drip through before continuing pouring in a gentle, cirular motion until 400 gram total is reached
  6. The water level should never be exceedingly high, preferable not much higher than the 170 grams mark
  7. This should take about 2.5 minutes from starting the timer. If it took longer, grind beans coarser. If it took shorter, grind beans finer. Or adjust pouring technique and speed

Hopefuly you remembered to put a cup or other kind of container under the dripper

Now that's a good cup o' joe!

I think I'll have another
